Geirdarddiad / Etymology: Podocarpus (pod-oh-KAR-pus): From the Greek podo- (foot) and -karpus (seed or fruit).
Geirdarddiad / Etymology: nivalis (niv-VAL-us): Growing in or near snow, or referring to the white colour.
Description: A rounded, wide, dense evergreen conifer with robust, narrow dark green leaves. Can be variable in height, but never more that of 2metres. Red fruits 6mm long, are borne on female plants.
